Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray Has Had a Sleek New Makeover...

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray Review
If you told me last year I'd be writing a blog post raving about a setting spray, quite frankly, I would probably have laughed in your face. I've always been sceptical about them and if I'm honest, I've dismissed them as extremely overpriced water. I've tried NYX, MAC Fix+, Maybelline and a couple of other setting sprays here and there and I've just not been overly impressed - they've either been too sticky, too drying or just generally pointless. Recently, I was very kindly gifted the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray* and this product alone has meant that I've had swallow my pride and backtrack on every mean thing I've ever said about setting sprays.

The All Nighter Setting Spray has been around in the market for a pretty long time - it's considered to be one of Urban Decay's cult beauty products and its packaging has recently had an upgrade! Now, I've got to be honest, I didn't own the old style setting spray but after a little bit of research, there were a couple of issues with the bright white bottle becoming really dirty, really quickly. I'm all about a brand that addresses minor issues with their products and makes changes to improve customer experience. The setting spray now comes in a beautiful matte black, soft touch bottle with a frosted lid. It's sexy, sleek and sophisticated. Yes, I just described packaging as sexy, I don't get out much, ok?! It's thankfully a far cry from the slightly cheap looking white plastic bottle of old (harsh but true).

This product comes with the huge claim that your makeup will last 16 hours without melting, fading or settling in to fine lines. Urban Decay's ground breaking formula uses Temperature Control Technology which cools down the temperature of your makeup to ensure that it stays exactly where it should. Unbelievably clever. I was expecting this spray, like many others I'd tried, to drench my face to achieve the cooling effect but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's a delicate, fine mist that absorbs easily into your skin. Upon application, you can feel it sinking into your skin, not just settling on the surface and almost locking your foundation in place.

So, let's cut to the chase - does it really work? I can't actually believe I'm about to say this but...yes, yes it absolutely works. The first time I tested this setting spray, I applied it on what was officially labelled as the hottest, most humid day of the year in the UK- 30+ degrees and I decided to hit the hot, sweaty clubs for a night out with the girls. Not one of my greatest ideas. I was dubious but I spritzed my face with the All Nighter Setting Spray and off I went. Several dance routines and one too many tequilas later, it's safe to say I was absolutely dripping with sweat (attractive) and I was certain that my entire face of makeup had melted right off on to the dancefloor. Fast forward a couple of hours to 4am and I stumbled into the bathroom a little bleary eyed to remove my makeup and I had to do a double take in the mirror. I kid you not, thanks to the setting spray, my makeup looked as good as it did when I left the house. I couldn't believe it, despite all of that sweating, it had barely moved an inch and almost looked as if I'd only just applied it.

Without exaggeration, this spray has changed my entire makeup game and I'm still struggling to believe that a simple spray has so much impact on the longevity of my makeup. Without a doubt, this should be the next makeup product that you buy because I promise it won't disappoint.

I've been using the travel size which you can purchase for £10 here but I'll be buying the full size bottle for £23.50 here when I've finished because I can't get enough of this product.

Let me know in the comments what your thoughts are on the new look All Nighter Setting Spray!

  3. Why is it so good? haha
I have some Maybelline one and it works well in removing that powder effect, but I haven't seen big differences in how long it lasts. I really want to try this one, for ages now. :)
