NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick Favourites

Liquid lipsticks have taken the beauty industry by storm over the last couple of years - I think it's safe to say we're all incredibly grateful to the innovative soul who decided to combine staying power with pigment and changed the entire lipstick game. I love lipstick, but I love liquid lipstick even more; granted, they can be a little drying but I'm so here for the I'm-not-budging-an-inch-for-several-hours kinda formula. I've lost count of the amount of liquid lipsticks I own, let alone the number of brands I have tried and tested.  There's so many options out there but the NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks come out on top for me and they're the ones I reach for the most. There's an impressive 24 shades to choose from, here's my six favourites:

L-R Embellishment, Exotic, Bedtime Flirt, Ruffle Trim, Push Up, Teddy

The NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks stand out for me for numerous reasons - while there's no denying that liquid lipsticks zap the moisture from your lips, the creamy mousse-like consistency of this product means that they're incredibly comfortable to wear in comparison to most others. The eclectic shade range is also impressive; they've created a range of nude shades that seem to work well on both lighter and darker skin tones. Sometimes I struggle to find nude shades that don't wash out my pale skin but this isn't an issue with these liquid lipsticks. I've seen mixed reviews about the longevity but for me it's incredible - they last for hours on the lips and I find that I only have to touch-up the inner part of the lip after a few hours which is to be expected when you're eating and drinking! As with all NYX products, the best part is that they're high quality but also so affordable at £7 each - which means if you forgo food for the week, you'd only have to work approximately 22.5 hours on Living Wage and you could afford the entire collection. Bargain.

The plus points outweigh the cons but as always, no product is perfect - I didn't get along too well with the wand as it isn't the generic doe-foot applicator that we've all become so used to - it's longer, flat and more rigid which I personally found difficult to work with, especially around the edges of my lips when trying to achieve a precise application. I also took issue with the inconsistency with some of the formulas as the darker colours were slightly patchy when applied and required more effort to create an opaque finish. Nothing too problematic though.

The low down on my favourite shades:

Embellishment - a muted, ashy purple that I love to pair with a neutral eye look to spice things up a little bit.

Exotic - a bold, warm mahogany red which I use as my alternative red lip. I just don't suit bright red lipstick and the warm undertones suit my pale skin tone a lot better.

Bedtime Flirt- a dusky pink with red undertones which is possibly my favourite ever Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick. It's just so easy to wear and is suitable as an every day look and equally great for a night out.

Ruffle Trim- described as 'cinnamon pink' but is more of a peachy pink on my lips. It's similar to Bedtime Flirt just a little deeper and more pink - a girly, cute shade.

Push Up - a lighter pink nude that works really well with a more dramatic eye look or finishes off a neutral every day look just nicely.

Teddy - a deep purple/warm brown which I'm totally obsessed with but I'd assume isn't for everyone. It's a bold, dark shade and is definitely for the adventurous among us.

Let me know which which NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick shades are your favourite!
