Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

So, it seems that I've taken an accidental blogging break and I'm not overly sure why. I guess it's a mixture of working long hours and feeling a little bit lack lustre and uninspired with blogging recently. I'm not one to put pressure on myself to blog though so it hasn't been a huge problem for me, I apologise if you all missed my presence greatly ;) I'm back though with my new favourite product that I've constantly been reaching for: the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette.
(L-R) Sweeter End, Warm Notes, Subtle Blend, Pure Ganache, Substitute for Love, Freshly Toasted, Delicate Acidity, Infusion, Beans are White

What I am most impressed with is that Zoeva have clearly spent a lot of time thinking these shades through in terms of what compliments another at the same time as including a great variety. Unlike most eye shadow palettes I purchase, there isn't a shade among these that I haven't used.

The pigmentation is incredible and also buildable if you are looking for a really intense eye look. My favourite combination is Bitter Start as a base colour, Substitute for Love blended as the transition shade, Warm Notes packed on the outer corner of the eye and Delicate Acidity to deepen the crease.
I have also found that the staying power of these shadows is brilliant - when I went out the other night, my eye makeup pretty much looked the same when I came in even after 1 or 2 glasses of wine too many. Considering this palette was a mere £18, I really wasn't expecting it to stand up against it's high end rivals but it does and I use it more than my Naked Palette.

The only minor complaint I have with this palette is that the fallout is insane. I'd strongly recommend applying your eyeshadow before your foundation as you'll only end up having to reapply it again. It also means that the packaging is constantly covered in shadow fallout too - I like my palettes to be pristine but hey, I'm sure I'll live!

Have you tried the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette? What is your favourite shade?
